Calaveras County Jail Visitation Hours and Rules

The Calaveras County Adult Detention Facility at 1045 Jeff Tuttle Drive in San Andreas is the only adult detention facility in Calaveras County. All adults arrested in the county, by the Calaveras County Sheriff, the Angels Camp Police Department, or the California Highway Patrol, are held at this facility.

Visitation is available on a scheduled basis. You must call the jail at (209) 754-6499 to arrange a visit in advance. Showing up without an appointment typically results in being turned away. All visitors must be on the inmate approved visitor list and must present valid government-issued photo ID at check-in.

Visitation hours vary by the housing unit and gender of the inmate. The current schedule is as follows. Male inmates may have visits on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, and on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Female inmates may have visits on Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. These hours are subject to change at any time without notice. Always call the jail to confirm before making the trip.

Visits may be cancelled or rescheduled due to facility lockdowns, understaffing, inmate disciplinary issues, or other operational needs. The facility does not typically provide advance notice of cancellations. Building in flexibility when planning a visit is advisable.

While visitation is an important connection for people in custody, the fastest way to reunite your family is through the bail bond process. If bail has been set, call us at (209) 498-7577 and we can often have someone released the same day. The entire process is handled by phone and our agents post bond directly at the jail.

Is getting someone out on bail faster than waiting for visitation?+
Yes. The bail bond process gets someone out of jail entirely, not just a supervised visit. Once bail is posted, the defendant is released and can return home.
